The Cohort Started Without You. Here Is the Four-Week Plan Anyway
Cohort 11 began tonight. If you are not in it, this is the same sequence, run alone, with what it costs at each step stated plainly.
Cohort 11 began this evening. If you are not in it, the useful question is not whether you missed something. It is what the next four weeks should contain.
Here is the sequence, in order, with the honest cost of each step. Most of it is free.
Week one: find out what is broken
Run the Capacity Audit first. Ten questions about the work itself, scored out of ten. If it says build the skill, stop reading job-search advice and go and build it — everything below is downstream of being able to do the job.
Then the five-question diagnostic, then the CV self-scan. Then write the ledger: your last twenty applications, seven columns, one hour.
By the end of week one you should be able to finish this sentence: my first leak is ___ because ___. Cost: nothing.
Week two: repair exactly one thing
Only the earliest broken part. This is the instruction people find hardest, because repairing everything feels more productive than repairing one thing.
Supply is free and takes about a week: twenty verified companies whose careers pages you check on a fixed day, plus the job channel, replacing the daily scroll with one weekly hour.
Representation is a weekend: the plain-text test, one column, the six deletions, a four-sentence summary, and every bullet rewritten as work done with a number you can defend.
Aim is research and takes ten to fifteen hours: thirty companies in three tiers, each checked for whether they can legally pay someone where you live.
Conversion cannot be fixed by reading, because the fault is something you cannot observe about yourself. That one needs another person in the room.
Week three: apply against the repair
Twenty aimed applications, not two hundred sprayed. Every one eligible, every one tailored to the words in the advert, every one logged in the ledger.
This is the week that feels slowest and produces the data everything else depends on.
Week four: read the ledger, not your feelings
Compare the new twenty with the old twenty. If the silence rate has fallen, the repair was correct and you continue. If it has not, you repaired the wrong point — and you now know that in four weeks rather than another six months.
What this plan does not give you
Three things, and it is worth naming them rather than pretending the free route is identical.
Nobody marks your work, so a CV that feels finished may not be. Nobody notices what you avoid. And there is no deadline, which is the actual reason most self-directed plans quietly stop in week two.
If those three are the gap, that is what the cohort is for, and there will be another. If they are not, this plan is genuinely enough, and a good number of the people we have seen placed did exactly this.
