The 7-Day Sprint Schedule

This is a schedule, not a theory. Follow it for 7 days and compare the results to your last month of job board applications.

Day 1–2: Build Your Target List

Find 20 companies that hire remotely in your field. Not job listings — companies. Use Remotive, Himalayas, and LinkedIn remote filter. Spreadsheet: Company | Role | Hiring Manager LinkedIn URL.

Day 3: Write Your Outreach Note

One adaptable template: "Hi [Name], I have been following [Company]'s work on [specific thing]. I am a [Role] with [specific result]. I put together a one-pager of relevant work — would you be open to a 15-minute conversation?" Short. Specific. Human. Not a cover letter.

Day 4–5: Send 20 Messages

10 per day. LinkedIn connection request with note on Day 4. Direct message to those who accepted on Day 5. Track every send in your spreadsheet.

Day 6: Follow Up on Profile Views

Check who viewed your profile after you messaged them. Follow up with those people first: "Saw you visited my profile — happy to share the one-pager directly if useful."

Day 7: Count Your Conversations

At 20–40% direct outreach reply rate, 20 messages should produce 4–8 replies. Three conversations from those is a realistic target — and each is a potential interview. Compare to your last 30 job board applications. The data will make the argument for you.
